Brian, The crystal sets included with the base K2 and the KSB2 option are matched sets already, so you should use them. There is no need to have the crystal sets for the two different filters exactly matched (the 2nd crystal filter in the base K2 is broad) - you will actually have two sets of 7 matched crystals rather than 14 matched crystals - just don't intermix them.
The reason you changed the crystals in your older K2 was because Elecraft tightened the specs on the crystals that they were buying, and the newer crystals were much better than the older ones - that is just history now and all crystals should be coming in conforming to the improved motional inductance spec. 73, Don W3FPR ----- Original Message ----- > Hi all: I have on order, due any day, my second K-2.
