Hi I think this is interesting. A few years ago everyone was complaining about the K2 knob and looking fore something to replace it. It got to the point that Yaesu parts had to stock extra knobs because of all the requests for replacements used on K2's. I know Elecraft even looked into having a precision machined knob made available as an option.
Now with the addition of a little $5 plastic stick on finger dimple it looks like most like the original knob the best. It just shows the wisdom of the Elecraft bunch in selecting the knob in the first place. I guess we have gone full circle on the knob.
