Speaking of keyers, I got really used to the K2's keyer over Field
Day. A few weeks later, I pulled out the 706 to work the CQ VHF contest
and could hardly send code! The 706 required me to hold the next element
just a hair longer than the K2 did. I suddenly understood why people
become so loyal to their favorite keyers, and wondered if Elecraft might
be interested in offering their own version of the popular PIC keyer chips
with the same code/timing as is in the K1/K2.
