FWIW, they appeared here not as attachments but as uuencoded text in the
body of the message. Depending on how your spam filter operates it
might have passed as plain text.
Mailman has the option of restricting the size of the past to the list...as does
majordomo....I set that value very low on the lists I manage and it seems to
help with the problem.
