Just found the dead receiver problem, of course it was operator error. The lead of the ground side of C183, which is mounted on the bottom of the rf board was touching the unused pads right next to the 5 v regulator on the control board. I assume they are 5 v ,, so I had no 5 volts. The lead was not cut flush and so was bent over and barely touching. The slightest touch would make it work. All is ok now and will start on Phase 3 tommorrow..
