Fred K6DGW, I was on a cruise to Alaska on the Princess Line 2 years ago. I did not ask corporate for permission to operate. I did ask the captain of the ship and permission was granted. My error was believing that they would have required me to use ship's equipment. They said I could use my own, but not the ships. Don't give up hope, get your licenses and ask when you board. Sadly, the terrorist paranoia and insurance issues may have changed the rules since I last sailed. Still, generally the Captain has the ultimate end word.
