Thanks for all that responded. And here is the update : I double-checked the
AGC voltage with the internal K2 voltmeter and got exactly the same maximum
value. Later on today, I finished completely the basic K2 and it tested
FABULOUS in every required alignment part.
Then tried the AGC on-off test with the AGC voltage at 3.78V and saw
significant desensitization of the Rx (no preamp or ATT), so I had to adjust
the R1 pot at the control board all the way to its midposition and a little
less than that in order to avoid the Rx sensitivity drop.
So it seems that all is well even with less than proposed max voltage. Now
off I go for the accessories and the 100W board. It has been a lot of
work(started it last weekend) but my ears thank me for that (pleasant /
quiet audio Rx, no hiss just signals).
