Since this list is a font of everything electronic, can y'all help me with
this?
I've got a HP DC power supply (6443B) that's worked great for a long time. I
DON'T have a service manual for it (of course). Recently, when I turn this
thing on, the voltage comes up, then drops off slowly (this is under no load
conditions) over 20-30 seconds, then blows the C/B.
I think I've troubleshot the problem down to the supply side capacitors.
They're massive can-types. About 3" in diameter by 6" tall. On the side is
the following information:
Sprague
Compulytic
32D
4500-150 DC
7230 L
0180-1839
I know Sprague has merged several times, but I've been trying to get some
information about this part from my normal suppliers (Mouser, Digikey) with
no luck...
Rather than buying the manual for $35, can someone out there help me
"decode" this part number? I figure if I can find the original capacitance
and voltage/load ratings, I can just find a more modern replacement.
Thanks in advance for the help, guys.
