I expect there is really nothing wrong.
It is most likely that you bumped the 'display voltage' slide switch on the top of the Control Board during the firmware install. Check and move it back to the INT position. I believe it will 'cure' the problem. Newer K2s (3000+) have a jumper instead of the switch because of this situation.
