I use the log all the time when I am operating casual pedestrian Mobile with the KX1. It works pretty well for me. The only problem I have is bumping the tuning dial sometimes when I flip the rig over. The trick I sometimes use is to engage the RIT as that is easier to do than lock, at least then I don't mess up my TX frequency.

P.S. Maybe on the "KX2" you could add a pseudo-dedicated lock button and up / down tuning buttons to make tuning easier when you are forced to put the rig in a plastic bag during rain / snow.
