This note is to urge new K2 builders like me to take the time to calibrate the 4 MHz master oscillator with the WWV method and to align your filters using Spectrogram or similar software. (See elecraft.com's Builder Resources page.) The assembly instructions get you in the ballpark, but fine tuning the settings is most definitely worthwhile.
I finished the K2 and options a few days ago but only got around to fine tuning things last night. And like the subject line says, wow, what a difference! My narrowest CW filters hadn't been especially useful till now, & I also discovered the control board's C22 needed a bit of adjustment. None of it was hard, but that C22 is sensitive when you're trying to juuust move it a little. Anyway, just wanted to mention, as many others have I'm sure, that you want to do this! 73, Mike AB3AP Avondale, PA K2 #4834 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
