I thought it was all CP/M underneath ;) Now the latest Mac OS is Linux underneath with Apple's APIs stapled on top. Is there nothing new under the sun?

The "latest" MacOS (MacOS X has been out of 4 years now....) has Unix underneath. Not Linux. It is BSD Unix under the covers.

When someone asked at the Apple WorldWide Developers Conference, "Which BSD distribution does MacOS X draw from" about four years ago, Apple Engineers answered, "All of them."
