I would like to have some way to control more than the three bands available now.

Hi Dave.

If you are using any Elecraft transverters then the KRC-2 is not needed, saving some of the KRC-2 positions for the other transverters. In your case, I think you are connecting to 903 and up though so you need all non-Elecraft transverters in all TRN positions - TRN1 through TRN 6 to control external gear.

For this, the 3 KRC-2 transverter outputs can be placed in to a binary output mode supplying 0-7. This will require you wire up a 3 to 8 line decoder (like a 74HC138) and probably an octal driver (I like ULN2803 myself) if the loads are not TTL/CMOS logic. The same configuration option is available for the ACC outputs to if I recall. There is enough space inside the KRC2 that I was able to put a small board inside the case.

There is also a new configuration utility posted that may allow some other options, but I have not looked into it yet since my existng setup is serving my needs as is still.
