Early KPA3s had some resistors mounted on the PCB so they would "float" in the air probably for cooling purposes. These "floating" resistors were changed out and no longer float on the later PCBs. There were some other subtle changes on the later PCBs. I have K3s with both the early and revised KPA3 boards and have not noticed any difference in the performance of these amps.
