A "neater and cleaner" solution is to get a RJ-45 jack in a
little two-inch-square "biscuit" terminal block used in the
data and telephone industry and available at most "serious"
electronic dealers. There are two types - one with wire leads
from the jack and the other with screw terminals on an enclosed
connection block. For your purposes, the latter type would be
easier to deal with.
