I'm seriously considering selling my 2 year old, unbuilt XV144 (with oven and still in packaging) and buying a K144XV instead, having read the article on the K144XV in August QST.
I originally thought the XV144 would be far superior to the K144XV, but now think the difference would probably not be noticeable, but the convenience for portable use (at least carrying) would be significant. My planned use for the K144XV is weekly net traffic on 145.375 FM and monthly UKAC 2m SSB contest (I currently use an FT-857 with 100W PA for this at an alternative location). I'd be interested in people advice and thoughts etc. Especially from someone who has done the same. Offers on the XV144 are welcome to give me an idea of it's value, but please don't spam the net with that, off list is fine by me (and I'll post my conclusion later).
