Just my two cents ... Elecraft gear in general can be very hard to come by on the used market, and I think this is primarily due to the fact that once you own an Elecraft there's really not much of a reason to sell it for something else.
I'm showing my age here, but I remember well the days of Heathkit -- and in my opinion the folks at Elecraft have done a superb job of taking the Heathkit model to the next level -- they make a damn fine kit radio without compromises. Heathkits were, well, "decent" gear, but in its day considered on the expensive side for what you got. Elecraft gear isn't cheap, but you get all that you pay for, and more. Hence the high retention rate.
