Hi Ross- 

The SA612 is identified as an alternate for the SA602 in the manual (see
Page 3 of Appendix A, Control Board).

I believe there are eleven I.C.s in 8-pin DIP packages. They are all listed
in the parts list. Perhaps you can identify that blank one by a process of
elimination if it's the only one unmarked. You are likely right about (b).

Suggest a note to support at elecraft dot com about the issue. They should
be aware of any un-marked parts going out by mistake anyway.

I am working my way through a K2 assembly, and it is going well.
BUT I am just assembling the Control board and I have 3only 8pin IC's with a

a the instructions call for an SA602, I have an SA612 is that ok.
b the next 8 pin is an LM6482  the only reading I can see on the IC is 64???
c the last 8 pin IC  IC has no identification at all it is blank on top.
