I'm new to the group... a recent General licensee. I'm considering the purchase of a K3 upon acquiring an Extra-class license.
The posting by W2EG got me thinking - perhaps one thing that would be extremely helpful to owners and potential owners... a series of whitepapers or write-ups on various topics, usage scenarios / configurations that when put together, form a whole that extends upon the current documentation for the rig. While the subject of some whitepapers would *potentially* include the options (of course), but perhaps others could address the kind of work one would want to do with the rig and how would one go about configuring it optimally for that purpose. You know, a different take on the "Owner's Manual". A technically oriented "User's Guide", ahem, a "K3 Solutions Guide" / Series, as it were to augment the documentation which currently exists. Maybe a distillation of best-practices / hints, tips, tricks as has been discussed in this reflector and amongst those really getting the most out of this fine rig. I've yet to see something like that for other, competitor radios. An unrealistic request? For a person like myself that builds his own antennas and needs to do some tuning (heh heh), hasn't mastered CW yet, doesn't need a panadapter display, what would I need to get going? An ATU, perhaps a few filters? Which ones? Excuse me if this idea has been discussed before. 73s de KJ4VPI, Sam ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
