One of my prime considerations choosing the K3 was for the Ext. Ref. For the interim, I decided on the high accuracy 1/2-ppm TCXO-3. I am pretty happy with it as is, but will get the external option when it becomes available since I have a master freq. reference OCXO for the station and a Rubidium standard for my frequency counter (good to 26-GHz). I am QRV 600m to 3cm. and will add 24-GHz in the near future.
I am required to have <1 Hz error on 495.053 KHz under my WD2XSH/45 license. I have a DDS synthesizer with that accuracy/stability and the K3 is dead on with it. So Nige, do not be put off by this issue if it is what is deciding you against the K3. ------------------------------ Message: 12 Date: Wed, 8 Sep 2010 07:29:27 +0100 From: David Pratt <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KREF3 External Reference Option: Detailed proposal To: Nige <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain;charset=us-ascii;format=flowed This is coming, Nige; see Wayne's msg on the reflector on 15 June at 00:15:39 .... ===SNIP In a recent message, Nige <[email protected]> wrote ... > >Wow that was a close one.
