Yes, I agree that Windows will work with multiple sound cards, including virtual ones like Total Recorder.
However, let's assume that I have two identical sound cards installed ... same manufacturer, same model number, same drivers, etc. Windows shows both of them with the exact same title in Device Manager, and any particular application will simply show both identical descriptions in their respective drop down setup menus. Is there any way I can separately identify them so that I can connect them to different external hardware and know which is being used for what?
