Sam, If you think in old terms about AM when we referred to the carrier power, then yes, the K3 power will be reduced to 25 watts on AM,
But the K3 power is referred to in PEP. A fully modulated AM signal with 25 watts of carrier power will produce 100 watts of PEP output. Since the K3 detects and controls power at the PEP level, set the power control to anything under 100 watts to produce the 100 watt PEP signal. 73, Don W3FPR On 9/17/2010 10:09 PM, Sam Morgan wrote: > I read that the K3 runs AM at reduced output: > http://www.elecraft.com/K3/K3_specs.htm > > TRANSMITTER > > Output Power: 200 mW –100 W, ALC controlled (Reduced power on AM.) > > but I can't seem to find anywhere > that says exactly what power output range > I should turn the PWR gain up to???? > > TIA ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
