Klaus, I got into the same situation you described here this morning. The K3 Utility would loop and wouldn't find the K3. The only way I could get around it was by disconnecting the P3 com cable and plugging it directly into the K3. Then the Utility connected and I was able to force the firmware load.
The firmware load initially got hung up with the P3 being on. After turning off the P3 the K3 Utility still didn't find the K3. I plan to change my P3 power on option to NOT come on with the K3. I meant to choose that option initially anyhow but never got back to it. I think that will avoid this snag next download.
