I thank everyone for their suggestions regarding the Line in settings. I have tried the following and still find the back ground noise Monitor on SSB (Microphone disconnected).
MIC SEL - rFL, fPL and Line In settings - still hear fan noise on keying MIC+LIN - On or Off makes no difference. I even pulled the Lin in and Lin out plugs to the K3 - still hear fan noise on keying. I do not think it is coming from the Lin In plug? A future firmware option maybe to turn off the Lin in when keying the mic even though this would not solve my problem. Please keep the suggestions coming.
