Hi all, We've just made a change to the K144XV firmware that dramatically reduces the incidence of weak receive spurs within the 2-meter band. Some of our customers who use SSB/CW on 2 meters had pointed these out, and we traced them to the K144XV's microcontroller (MCU). We now turn the MCU's crystal oscillator off during receive, letting the MCU "sleep" until you key the rig, change bands, or cross the 144/146 MHz boundary. It's working perfectly in our tests.
If you're using the K144XV for SSB/CW and would be interested in trying the new firmware, please email me directly (n6kr at elecraft dot com). 73, Wayne N6KR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
