OK, I'm a perfectionist, but my CW filters have some non-zero offsets. I spent a lot of time measuring their response and trying to calculate the correct offsets, but that didn't work all that well. Here's a simple method which did:
1. Temporarily disable the wider filter(s) and set the DSP bandwidth to about twice the xtal filter bandwidth. Make sure the passband is centered (zero shift). 2. Tune to a clear frequency and listen to the noise. 3. Select the "ALT" CW mode (the other sideband), and note whether the noise sounds the same. (It may sound generally higher or lower in pitch.) 4. If the two sidebands don't sound the same, adjust the offset for that filter until they do. This assumes, of course, that your xtal filter is OK except for a possible offset.
