Hi, I completed the K2 and KAT100/KPA100 (in an EC2) project. Everything is playing well together, but there are some "cable issues" I'd like to resolve in order to make it less messy when I bring the radio out of the closet to operate.
First of all, I plan on making a short (~4") jumper, which is required between the KPA100 and KAT100. Secondly, I'd like to construct a single connection between the main rig and the autotuner/amp. I already have the long Y cable built, but won't always be using computer control. Is it possible to get the DE9 shell, connectors, and the shielded wire from another source? Can I use DB9 connectors, or are they totally different from DE9's? I feel like this has been hashed out in the past (and perhaps in a manual), but I can't seem to find it. If it's just a matter of ordering a replacement cable and connectors from Elecraft, then fine; however, if I can pick up these parts locally (or through Mouser, Digikey, etc.) then I may opt for that.
