Since I also work on commercial FM radios (I own 3 repeaters) my Tech Bench
is built upon those shelf units that you find in home discount stores etc.
I have two shelf units on either side {and perpendicular} of my work area,
and they support my main work area shelf. My work surface area is about 5 feet
wide by 4 feet deep. I have enough room for my scope, signal generators
(General Radio) and Service Monitor to live on the adjacent shelves, as well
as
all my tools and stuff.
The rest of the room contains an otherwise retired computer to write
articles on, and also stereo equipment -- so that I don't go too crazy!
