Hi Rick, It was plugged into the "Paddle" jack. I just replied to Don; did a test where I removed the plastic plug cover and inserted the plug into the paddle jack. I shorted tip to ground and got dits. Shorted ring to ground produces nothing.
I even checked the continuity on the plug itself; all contacts are good. Looks to me like there might be something wrong with the K3's jack or perhaps something more... not sure yet.
