CWT tunes to zero-beat your CW pitch. If it is finding false zero beat at a very different pitch, try narrowing the the filtering (WIDTH control) to a few hundred Hz, tune until you hear the signal in the passband with CWT on and see the signal in the CWT moving dot display , then tap SPOT.
The capture range of CWT is about +/- 125 Hz.
