Pure joy! I was search & pouncing up and down the dial with my K2 set up as follows:
Attenuator: ON AGC: OFF XFIL: 100 Hz AFIL: I think it's 100 Hz as well ...and riding the RF Gain control very carefully, keeping it just high enough to hear my prey clearly. It was unsettling how quiet the band sounded. You'd work a guy and move on until someone else popped up out of the silence. You couldn't tell if the band had died or what, until you looked at your log and realized the last guy you worked was just several tens of Hz from the guy you're about to call. Wow! You have to go to a wide filter once in a while for a reality check...just to appreciate how good you have it! I think I'll order an AF-1 filter kit and my K2 will be unbeatable!
