Hello Jobst I use a 40 meter center fed dipole (120 foot long) with a 4:1 Guanella balun ( QST april 2010) which gets direct onto the K3 automatic antenna tuner .
I can operate from 160 to 10 meters, as, once ajusted, it memorizes all the frequencies. Of course I use the second antenna output A2 which is automatically connected when I switch to 40, 80, or 160, the other bands having separate antennas, (though I can use these on the dipole as well in case of need). The dipole, due to its particular length and balun arrangement, I suppose, has two resonances without the tuner on 30 m and...2 meters !
