UPS emailed to say my shipment from Elecraft had arrived at East Midlands Airport and that tax was payable on it. I duly phoned them and paid the tax. When the parcel arrived it was marked "COD" and the driver couldn't ascertain if the payment had been made or not, neither could his office. Unfortunately I had written the payment reference on scrap of paper and left it at behind at another house. The house was less than two miles away but the driver refused to wait while I collected it and said he would only deliver the parcel again if I could quote the payment reference number.
