With averaging, P3 reads some 10db below in SSB than without averaging. Seems logical as average SSB signal is 10db below the peak. Pressing PEAK show the real peak, and it agrees with my K3 after calibration.
So one question is what to do with P3 that shows less with averaging? 1. Document and do not worry; PEAK can always be turned on. Too complicated "fixes" may backfire as we actually want to see the average strength with averaging. 2. Add a peak display to the current one, perhaps with some hold time as in AGC HLD.
