It's more complicated than that. The M1-4 buttons have no separate "hold" function when they are used as CW (and I assume DVR) memories - more precisely, HOLDing one of them puts it in auto-repeat, at least in CW/DATA (I don't know about the DVR - voice modes are a mystery to me).
However, when they are used to store macros, TAP and HOLD are independent (i.e. you can store two different macros in one key). I seem to recall that if you only store one of the two in a given key (tap and hold), tapping and holding both execute the same macro. What this means is that you can use any one of these keys to store either a single memory message or two macros, but you cannot use a key to store both a memory message (tap) and a macro (hold). You can mix and match between keys, e.g. M1 contains two macros (tap & hold), M2 contains a CW message, M3 contains two more macros, etc. 73, Rich VE3KI HB9ANM wrote: > The M1-4 buttons have no "Hold" function. > But the REC button has one: hold it to get into BANK 1, again for BANK 2. > Then tap it to return to the normal M1-M4... ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
