Gee, mom, why didn't you insist that I try diversity reception sooner?

After reading a review here, I ordered and installed a Pixel RF PRO-1A active
loop antenna on an RCA VH126N rotor above our porch enclosure as my
receive-only antenna. All promised benefits - spotting stations, diversity
reception, SWLing, and more - are neat. Have had the second receiver on a
short wire antenna, but that provides little value.

The cheap rotator is susceptible to RF - when transmitting on my 40 meter wire
antenna, the rotator would activate to a random heading. This rotator has 16
memories selected by pushbutton or infrared remote; upon inspection, the
pushbuttons look like little antennas, with no bypassing. I tried .01 mfd
caps, but they made the keyboard inoperative. Switched to 330 pfd and all
seems well. The bypassing is done on the main circuit card, at an 8-wire cable
terminal. FWIW, YMMV, etc.

Now I am looking for 2 400 or 500 hz filters that have fallen off a beer truck
somewhere.
