Tnx for the suggestion Joe: The KX1 needs something closer to a 1-amp supply. It's rated at 800 mA depending upon supply voltage and power.
I have some old 12V transformer type wall warts around here too, but aren't regulated - running up well above 15VDC unloaded - and are limited to about 500 mA.
