Ed,

If it is marked "474" it is the correct value.  If the lead spacing is 
just a bit off the nominal 0.2 inch spacing, just form the leads a bit.  
If it is vastly different, ask at [email protected] - I guess it is 
possible that someone obtained a same value capacitor from the wrong 
bin, or there may be a supplier problem.

The normal capacitor for that location is about 1/4 inch square.  If it 
much different than that, do not install it until you have the rest of 
the board populated - it may not fit in the physical space available.

If the body of the capacitor will fit, feel free to form the leads close 
to the body as much as required to fit the hole.  Do not bend the leads 
with pliers or other tool right at the point where they enter the body - 
if they bend with your fingers, that is OK, and you can use pliers to 
form the leads further away from the component body.
