Hi Richard, The small magnetic loop has a lower RDF (RX Directivity Factor- see the W8JI site or ON4UN's LF book) than does the K9AY- so not as good using that figure of merit: 7.2 vs 4.0 The Pixel and Wellbrook loops are nice I am sure, but you can build your own shielded active broadband loop for $25 or so. See: http://members.shaw.ca/ve7sl/loop.html I have a 3' and a 7' version- pix upon request. Although they don't come close to my Beverages, theyt are a nice RX antenna.
