Exactly. I think there's great potential in the K2 that can be brought out, and the KDSP2 is the key to injecting some new life into it - bringing it closer to the features/capabilities - or even some of the "feel" - of the K3. The key to expanding and refining the K2 is now software, and the KDSP2 seems to be the easiest way to get there.
