Dear Group,

I have recently installed a brand new KDVR3 into my K3 (#4058).

The K3 is loaded with the latest firmware upgrade.MCU 04.25, FPF 01.14, DSP1
02.71, DSP2 02.71 and DVR 01.04

In trying to understand the KDVR3 operation I have loaded 4 short voice
messages and can recall them from the M1-M4 buttons - no problem.

What I would like to do is keep a continual rolling 90 second buffer record in
the DVR when listening/working DX.

I can make AF RECordings and have successfully replayed them by AF PLAY.
However I am confused by the total amount of memory available for recording.

I am not sure if I am having an operation difficulty or if there is a bug.

During playback when the PLAY seconds counter is displayed I hear one recording
for the total 90 second, it restarts as expected at the wrap around time at the
90 mark. However if I try to advance or retard the playback by moving VFO-B
knob I hear a totally different recording randomly and the counter will
continue playing but with different playback. This would infer that there is a
another memory bank of previously recorded data or that the addressing of the
recording by the VFO-B knob is outside the expected range and not always
addressing the same memory segment for the same SECONDS count. There also
appears to be random blanks period during the playback. (I am aware there is no
recording during TX at least in CW mode)

I have also noted that any previously recorded messages (max. 10 seconds
duration) are overwritten and now have some of the recorded playback data in
them.

So the question are for the nominal installed firmware :-

How much recording memory is there (in units of seconds) and is there a
consistent way of addressing it on playback ?

If one uses the rolling buffer record mode is the M1-M4 message memory meant to
be overwritten?

Is the operation I have noted abnormal ?

Thanks for your patience reading this.
