Mostly because I just wanted to build a radio and I took my chances. Now that I have it for awhile, I realize how much I did not know as it was not a risk at all.
Plus I liked the reflector list as it was clear that there were smart hams who use this radio which is not what I gleaned from monitoring the other radio mfg, lists. Now I just need to find cash for upgrades.
