The protocol I was taught for military and commercial CW nets was to send only the BK prosign once in between other transmissions and wait for acknowledgement by the net -- except when responding to a roll call. It might take several tries, but BK is easy to catch even under another station, and then everyone will be listening carefully when NCS asks you to check in so any relays can be done, etc.
I would think that would be the best approach when attempting to be noticed mixed-mode too. I did not copy a full call sign, I copied a couple of letters on top of someone else's transmission. Had I copied a callsign I would certainly have tried to pull him in I am sure a CW call in would have worked just fine IF it had been timed to coincide with any of the many pauses that were left between transmissions. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
