Mike, That problem is usually the result of not enough audio into the K3. Is the ALC meter lighting up 5 to 7 bars? If not --- To properly set the mic gain, first set the compression to zero (1:1), Then use TX TEST so you don't emit RF and bother anyone. Now adjust the Mic Level so the ALC meter indicates at least 5 bars and peaks up to 7. That done, increase the compression as desired, and then turn off TX TEST
