My KBT2 failed as well many years ago. Rather than replace it, I bought 2 x 1.5A 11.1 V battery pack from batteryspace.com. Now they they have higher capacities. Much lighter and it seems to last forever. I charge it through a separate jack at 12.8V. Ignacy, NO9E
