It's actually very simple. KX1 and K2 [and quite a few if not all] of the so-called "Mini-modules" are mature Elecraft products. There's not much they can do to them, nor do I want them messing around with my two QRP radios, which I really like, use, and love ... in the ham radio sense :-). Most of the postings for the K2 involve construction problems. K3 is evolving, as will most radios in the future, I just happen to have the best one.
