Gene, I cannot make any recommendation, but the 500k 1/4 watt resistor would seem a bit high to me. I would go no higher than 100k (50k would be a good choice IMHO) and would use a 1/2 watt resistor instead.
Do not use a choke inside the K2 - there used to be one at the SO-239 jack, but it can couple into the base K2 and cause problems.
