Many hams are in that situation. They put up one antenna, the longest they can fit, and then use it on 7 or even 8 bands. Even with 100 watts, one can work *almost* all of the DX this way, but with propagation as it is, there can be some areas that are hard to get to. From my QTH in Missouri, it's very hard to get into south Asia with 100 watts and a back-yard wire, and just about all the countries I still need are somewhere in that part of the world. A few extra db will come in handy.
