I am really impressed with this little rig. I made the usual errors but
fixed them straight away.
I also took two items of advice from the list: 1) the Pelican 1060 case
and 2) a small tripod to support the rig. These are both well worth
considering. I admit I was skeptical about threading a 1/4-20 hole in
the case but there is enough thickness there to support the thread and
the tripod makes a nice display stand too (for the thousands of visitors
who see my shack).
I see this as a hotel/traveling rig since I am a road warrior these days
and travel internationally.
It looks like time to unload the Sierra and the 817.
