Robin,

If you have the KIO2 installed, do you also have no data connection?
That is a sure sign that you have inadvertently changed the sidetone 
source in the menu.

Try getting it back in the menu.  First go to the STL menu, and set the 
parameter back to where you normally had it (try 25 to 30 if you don't 
remember).  Then tap the DISPLAY button to toggle the sidetone source 
(try tapping it several times if you do not hear the sidetone).

If that does not fix it, then you may have a bad connection somewhere in 
the sidetone signal path on the Control Board.
